Don't try this at home kids

It was destined to be just another office day until this little bat was found on the side of our building. I guess the landscapers scared it up and it forced to take flight. Little cutie was full of jaw dropping batty poses. The handler has her rabies shots so she can safely handle this little boy. Yes. She determined that it's a little boy brown bat.

A few years ago I found a presumable little brown bat right outside my front door (see awful pic below). I guess it got confused when it flew into the front enclosure and thought it was day thanks to all the lights. I poked it a few times and it opened its tiny mouth in annoyance. It eventually flew away.

Awww! Two posts in a row of people holding critters most people are scared of. Bats are cool.

Bats are cool and they look like little angry mice with wings. Don't worry there won't be any postings of spiders or other creepy bugs being held. But if I see a black widow, I'll be sure to take a photo....not holding it of course.

Bats totally rule the school. Oh, and I have pics of black widow spiders! Saw them out in Palm Springs. I felt like I was staring death in the face, but they're total scaredy cats and run away into a tree or whatever they've built their webs into when you walk up.

Black widow, spiders that is, are also in NJ. I saw them down in the pineys. I am told that their web is super strong so if you go through it, you'll know the difference. I think only the elderly and kids will die if untreated b/c the venom in the bite is so small. Not that I'm going to try on myself.

We had a bat at the Jersey Shore too. It was on top of our neighbors front door in our condos. So I had to walk by it every morning until my friend moved it for me. I gotta admit, I'm a little skeered of em. : )

Here's a pic: http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g118/julesb33/BAT1.jpg
